Vs.

Growing up in Plano, I had to learn to deal with stereotypes that were forced upon me thanks to the media, particularly MTV's documentary show True Life and its first episode entitled "Fatal Dose." I often mentioned to outsiders that the part of the city in which I lived and went to school did not fit this stereotype and if they just drove through it from one end to the other they could see for themselves how different 20 minutes of driving can make. With the series Vs., I attempted to visually capture the differences in the two main "squares" of my hometown, both located fairly near their respective edges of the city: Downtown Plano in the east and The Shops at Legacy in the more affluent west.
